I have been trying to potty train Ellie for months now. She will do really good for a while, slide backwards, do well again, then slide back again. I would like to get her into a preschool, but we have to make it over this mountain first. I am out of ideas. I have tried stickers. I have tried getting m&m's when she goes...I am wondering if I should just get rid of the diapers all together (she's in pull ups right now) and see if that helps??? Any thoughts, ideas?? I am open to any advice!!!

I have to say, the only thing that helped any of the kids I've worked with is doing away with the diapers and pull-ups (which essentially are the same thing) altogether. Start on a Friday night (hopefully to save your dad from too much mess...) and just tell her, no more diapers, and stick her in underwear. You can buy plastic pants to go over them if you want...otherwise be prepared for big mess. But it usually works in less than a week if they're ready. But again, this is just from kids-at-work experience. When Grace has to be potty trained, I'm going to Bora Bora and letting Chad deal with it :) - definitely NOT looking forward to it.
My Grandma potty trained Bradley also in a very short time. She took him to her house for a week? the weekend? 2 weeks? I don't recall, but it wasn't long. She let him run around naked, sans any kind of bottoms. So when he had to go he had to go to the bathroom. Would you want to stand there (and as a girl) have pee running down your leg? I don't think I would.
This is odd...I know.
Thanks for the advice. I don't know if Kev could handle watching over the no pants thing. LOL. Might be fun to watch! I like the Bora Bora idea :D I think I am just going to have to do away with the pull ups...she's too comfy
