Rainy Day Weekend-Help!!!
According to the weather station this is going to be a Rainy Day Weekend. Great. I remember back to a time when I loved weekends like this...I would cuddle up in bed with a good book and a cup of tea all day and be perfectly happy. Obviously after I had Ellie this changed...and then it changed even more so with Emma. Now I almost dread rainy days. It always seems that I can never think of enough to do to keep their little minds and bodies occupied for a whole day. And even in the cities it can be hard to find age appropriate activities for both of them that do not cost me an arm and a leg...I do the usual indoor stuff, such as building forts, play dough, coloring alphabet books, watching movies, etc...but they still seem to get bored. Sooo...I would be willing to take any suggestions from all of my creative friends out there!!!! With Kevin not being home and it just being the girls and I any idea at all would be wonderful!!!

Depending on how much mess you want to endure...
As an idea off of coloring, what about making T-shirts or something along those lines. Get some cheap white Hanes Tees and let them use puffy paint (maybe some sponges? Hands are fantastic!) to create their own shirt.
Make something yummy? Bradley and Kevin both liked to bake with me/Mom when they were younger. Although not sure how that would go with Emma attention wise :)
Have a tea party! Dress up, make little sandwiches or buy little cookies. Doesn't necessarily have to be tea...I just imagine Feather Boas..although unless you have them just lying around...maybe not.
Now I know Emma's young for some of this...but I figured ANY feedback was something.
1. If it's not lightning - put on suits and go play in the rain...
2. Inside picnic - make lunch, spread out a blanket and eat it on the floor :)
3. Go to the library? The library by us has a really great children's room with toys - I don't know what your library is like.
4. I know here, and in Phoenix, at the library you can get free passes to museums. The libraries in Phoenix have a GREAT museum selection, but here not so much (though we're kinda short on cool kids' museums around here) You may or may not be able to go that day, but it might be something to save up...
I agree with the playing in the rain. One of my favorite memories from when I was younger is playing in the rain with my Dad. Although we just went outside in our clothes and did it...I love it :)
Thanks girls! Couldn't do the play in the rain as it was a big T-Storm weekend...but we did have a tea party/picnic. Ellie loved it, Emma..well...Emma loved to destroy it! LOL! But it was still fun!! We did apple painting too so that was neat. :D
